Lala Talks: Radar Mag Folds, What does the Future Hold for the Publication Industry?

Seems like our favorite mags are dropping like flies, left and right. On October 24th, Radar Magazine folded. On October 31st, Portfolio announced that they would be reducing issues from 12-10, and Men’s Vogue from 10 – 2. Not to mention, CosmoGirl! and Jane already folding. So what about the magazines still standing? Due to our current economic crisis and our drastic shift into digital media, in some cases print publications have no other choice but to submit and unfortunately go under. Some believe that print media as a whole will be history as we know it. This is a sad time for many. Magazines have been a tangible escape to creativity, new ideas, and wonderful writing to me and its a shame to watch quality magazines surrender to our current economic state. Please support your favorite publications, whether they be independent or not. Because the last thing we want is our favorite magazine to be the next in line to fold.
