There are fashion capitals all over the world, some are more tapped into than others. In the 7th grade, I won the history bee with the final question of: “What is the largest capital of the world?” I retaliated with the winning answer of Mexico City. In current times, Seoul, Korea would be the correct answer, but Mexico City is still a huge city with a great amount of style, creativity, and most importantly fashion.
I was in a Fort Greene newstand when I first picked up the fall 2007 issue of Baby Baby Baby Magazine and it was great love ever since. With illustrations and drawings instead of graphics, gnarly photography, fresh faced models, and articles in spanish and english, Baby Baby Baby Magazine is the best darn thing Mexico City has to offer. You can expect out-of-the-box fashion, the editor’s obsession with Cory Kennedy, explosive creativity and the essence of Mexico City fashion. Log onto babybabybaby.com.mx for more information. It is fair to say that Mexican stylistas are not afraid of color and passion in their clothing. There is not a particular box that you can fit the style of Mexico City into and that is what makes it so appealing. Crazy prints, embellishments, bright colors, and always pieces that scream “look at me.” And I do have to say the guys may have a leg up on the women when it comes to working it.
