Fashion label Don the Verb held their Fall/Winter 2009 show in the posh Hotel on Rivington. Before the show began, we got to go backstage and view the collection before the show began. The models were getting dressed and still in hair and makeup. 
The collection was my kind of collection: vintage-inspired and a black color palette. The silhouettes were loose and airy & the footwear was unpredictable and loads of fun.
The entire look on each model came together flawlessly as hair, makeup and look were consistent with a 40s inspired flair.
We got the chance to chat with the chief makeup artist for the Don the Verb show, Daniella at iGroup. She said “The inspiration are the clothes: gothic, young, and 40’s. So we did a very clean face and for the lips we actually did something a little unusual. We used a color that is a very ashy brown that is not a traditional lip color but its very earthy its so it feels a little bit more woodsy.” 
With a strong collection, relevant trends and equally strong beauty runway look, Don the Verb was a refreshing show this past fashion week.
