Lala NYC Trend Report: The Fashion Friendly Baseball Cap

The popularity of baseball caps are rampant amongst college alum, children and sports aficionados alike. Trucker hats were cool for a millisecond a few years back but not exactly fashion forward. And with the wikipedia definition of baseball caps being “a type of soft cap with a long, stiff bill that may either be curved or flat. People with long hair in a ponytail may pull it through the gap in the cap above the adjustor,” it just doesn’t sound too style promising. But this Fall/Winter 2009 season, designers have cranked up the sophistication of the baseball cap. Whether it be paired with pants like in the John Bartlett and Isaac Mizrahi shows or whether there are details added like in the Lacoste and Missoni shows, baseball caps are now fashion friendly. When paired with the right looks, baseball caps can be a cool look to add to your style rolodex.
