With every coming season, it seems as if Rachel Antonoff finds even more clever ways to present her collections during New York Fashion Week, as if it were even a possibility. For this season’s collection titled “The Dance”, she took to Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, right in the Upper West Side to show her collection in the form of a high school dance. Girls danced in Rachel’s Fall/Winter 2011 pieces on the dance floor to a performance by The Like, while the wallflowers took to the bleachers and the bad girls spiked the punch bowl. Hoisery was adorned with graphics right at the knee and the collaboration between Rachel Antonoff and Bass Shoes continued for this season’s darling loafers. It was an interesting shift to see the approach to a more youthful consumer but was executed perfectly. The dresses were sweet, girly, and age-appropriate for the mean girls and wallflowers alike.
The collection mixes different colors that complement well.
