When I did the switchover from blogger to WordPress, it was a nostalgic process for me. Taking glimpses at old posts gave me the chance to take a look into the person that I used to be – what my taste was like, the extent of what I knew and ultimately how the Internet taught me everything. All bloggers have a motive to begin blogging in the first place, whatever the reason may be. But over time, whether your blog remains active or dormant, you have the space and freedom to proclaim how you feel about any given topic.
I began blogging with the intention to exercise my writing muscle on topics of New York, fashion and culture. And that evolved into talking more about social media and its intersection with fashion because of the empowerment it gave me, more than anything else I could gain from. But the thing about blogging in the days of Live Journal or even blogging today in the ever-bustling Information Age, anyone can have a platform or the soapbox to rant, rave or challenge the status quo – and others value you what you have to share. As new technologies and mediums emerge in the digital space, now more than ever we have an agent on our side that can disrupt social norms and help create beauty where there was lack. Now, that’s a pretty powerful notion if you ask me.
Are you a blogger, too? How does blogging feed you?
I’m about to start blogging again. All praise due to you. Thanks for the inspiration.
It’s making me feel fulfilled, with constant thoughts of what to post next.
blogging is my creative outlet, plus I’m pretty isolated, being busy with my kids- with blogging I can’t say what I’m thinking without talking my dh’s ear off…something like that. The internet is really changing fast right now, so many platforms, I’m kind of wondering where blogging will be in a few years?
Please tell me where you got that shirt? It is quite literally the most amazing shirt I have ever seen. I must know where you got that top!!!!
