W29 Showoom is home to some of fashion’s best-kept secrets, representing labels like Dagmar, Rodebjer, Local Firm, Asish, and Margarita Saplala. I got check out the Fall 2010 collections and snap some photos to share with you. Viewing a look book online is one thing, but feeling the fabrics and seeing the small details in construction is an entirely different ball game. Much like my feelings about print magazines versus digital content, but that’s a completely separate conversion.
Asish S/S 2010
The Fall collection from Asish hadn’t arrived yet but the Spring 10 collection made entirely of sequins lit up the entire showroom. Designer Asish, of the recently famed TopShop leopard wedge collaboration, spared no color or beach motif, for that matter.
Candace Ang Fall/Winter 2010
Los Angeles-based jewelry designer Candace Ang has mastered the art of great accessories since 2005. Like the mesh-wrapped jeweled necklace shown left and braided chain bracelets with delicate spikes (now that’s an oxymoron, if I ever wrote one) shown at lower right. Plus, she’s got a really cute blog: www.candaceang.com/blog.
Eternal Child Fall/Winter 2010 Collection
The Fall 10 Collection for Eternal Child was a breath of fresh air. Endless hybrid pieces of knitwear and fur commanded the collection. But I think it was the fun stripes and detachable fur shoulders that did me in. You definitely expect a lot more jabber from me on this label.
Iosselliani Fall/Winter 2010
Roberta Paolucci and Paolo Giacomelli are the powerhouses behind the Rome-based Iosselliani jewelry fortress. This season the two opted for gunmetal-shaded fringe accented with skulls that will naturally wind on the pages of every fashion magazine and all the chic celebrities you blog about.
ooh lala love ashish! those sequined dresses ahhhhhh.
