Local Firm Fall/Winter 2010
Local Firm is a women’s and menswear line birthed out of Stockholm that gives New York designers a run for their money. With a full line of denim, shoes, eyewear, headwear and scarves, Local Firm just has that cool aesthetic that you can’t get enough of and seemingly have lots to chose from. My favorite piece were the men’s leather loafer, it just looked so comfortable, I wanted a pair for myself.
Margarita Saplala Fall/Winter 2010
Margarita Saplala is a New York-based designer who does her own prints and for this collection worked with all silks. Not to mention, she worked a fun collaboration with jewelry designer Candace Ang this season and did adorable pieces like the mini dinosaur and spike necklace seen above to the upper left. Margarita also expanded into silk scarves and has a collaboration with Barney’s Co-Op that should be in stores very soon.
Octopi Fall/Winter 2010
It was an understatement to say that I was looking forward to seeing Octopi’s Fall 10 Collection. I’d been following Octopi since their Fall 2009 collection that seemed fit for a pop princess like Lady Gaga with all the metallics and experimental structure. So it was great to see the new collection in person and see the great prints made by designers Sarah Welsh and Madeline Davy. They opted for softer construction this season with silks and velvets in fun shapes. Love, love, love Octopi.
Rodebjer Fall/Winter 2010
Rodebjer is one of my favorites, straight from Sweden, Carin Rodebjer designs beautifully youthful clothing that every girl would die to wear. This season, Rodebjer has a wider selection of shoes, everything wedge, height, print and color you could think of. And their look book cover girl is Sessilee Lopez. What’s better than that?
