The one thing I miss about styling editorial photo shoots is being in total control of creating a sharp direction in a photograph with great clothing. If you have the right creative team, you can create fashion magic. You can evoke a mood, make people feel something and take them to a place that maybe, they’ve never been before – without ever having to say a word. That’s what I love about this editorial from Berlin Showroom – the clothes are so strong and the model is telling a story. She can be laid back, expressive, funny or serious but she’s always style conscious.
This editorial is all the way from Paris and all the clothing featured are all from German design talent represented by Berlin Showroom. I love seeing how forward designers are thinking across the globe and how experimental they’re willing to take it. I wish we would see shapes and silhouettes like this from New York-based designers, but until then I’ll just have to continue to gaze at slick imagery like this from half way across the globe. If you’re interested in learning more about the designers featured in the “Pluralism” editorial – check out their Autumn Winter 2014/15 collections, here. I really love the concept of a showroom creating editorials for their clients – it gives context to a collection and definitely gives you a more faceted view of what the designers are all about.
