I love a good New York store opening. And right before the weather was as smoldering as it is now, Danish designer Henrik Vibskov opened the doors his first US retail store on 456 Broome Street, as guests poured out in the streets.
I’d always been a fan of Vibskov’s out of the box designs and have used some of his pieces in some of my favorite editorials that I’ve styled. I just admire his brave and bold approach – which is seamlessly shown throughout the design of the store.

Although, the store holds the designers name, other great international design talent are stocked as well – like Stine Goya and Peter Jensen. Drinks were flowing throughout the store, as the designer took to a quaint stage by the front of the entrance and put on a performance with his band Trentemoller.

I couldn’t help myself but to find something that I had to bring home with me. I snagged this great mustard short from the Spring 2011 collection. A little memento from a good night in New York, and perfect to wear this summer.
