Lindsay Lohan has recently become the subject and title of artist Richard Phillips’ first short film, which also happens to be a part of the new body of work that will be seen at the Gagosian Gallery in 2012. In the 90 second film, Phillips’ lifts the daunting, public dismay of the twenty-four year actress and reveals her undeniable qualities of sensuality and magnetism on screen. These were all words that I never believed I would find myself saying after all the trials and tribulations, she had recently experienced in court and out. Yet, the film’s references to Brigette Bardot in Jean Luc Godard’s ‘Contempt’, show Lohan’s fluidity and strong ability to epitomize a character. The mystical manner that Phillips’ captured each moment, had it’s way with me and took my breath away.

‘Lindsay Lohan’ was included in Commercial Break presented by the Garage Center for Contemporary Culture in Venice during the 54th Biennale di Venezia. But you can still watch here or on The Gagosian Gallery’s YouTube Channel.
