I recently passed a street in Tribeca with some beautiful art galleries and was in for a treat to see some of the work of Donna Ferrato. Though this New York photographer takes amazing photos of memorable New York scenes and elements, I learned that is not the half of her gifted ability. She has worked as an activist to take a stand against domestic violence through documenting the effects it has on Americans through her photography. In 2007, Donna launched the website called Abuse Aware with WebMd to “visually prove how devastating all forms of abuse are for everyone”.
