March, a month of madness for some traveling to Paris for Fashion Week and Austin, Texas for SXSW. Although, should you be staying stateside this month, doesn’t mean there aren’t things to do, hear, see and fawn over. From Armory Arts week, exhibit openings, sold-out concerts and anticipated album releases, March means were closer to warmer weather and that springtime feeling in the New York air.

1st: Lykke Li releases her sophomore album titled “Wounded Rhymes” on LL Recordings. (www.lykkeli.com)

3rd: Armory Arts Week begins and continues through March 6th. Check out the Armory Show, Volta, Pulse and as always, Scope.

8th:The Vivienne Westwood Exhibit at the FIT Museum opens. Visit through April 2nd for the Queen of Punk and Tartan’s work from 1980 to 1989. 230 West 39th Street New York, NY 1001810th: Glenn Ligon’s Solo Show at the Whitney Museum opens. Malcolm would approve. (www.whitney.org)

11th: SXSW jumps into full gear for the latest in music, film, and interactive- and now this year in fashion, as well, with the introduction of StyleX. It’s not too late to book that ticket to Austin. (www.sxsw.com)

16th: The Film Forum premieres the stunning documentary on the originator of street style photography, Bill Cunningham for a two week long engagement. 21st: Japan Fashion Week begins through March 25th.

22nd: The long awaited album from the Strokes entitled “Angles”is released. Hallelujah.
