The Fashion District in Midtown Manhattan has been a vital area for the fashion industry in this city to thrive. It is the one area that allows New York designers to produce, design, source, and create within a 8 block radius. It has served as a resourceful hub of information, support and commerce for designers, labels, and the City of New York.
Since June 24th, the Fashion Center has presented the Sidewalk Catwalk. This free, public art exhibit of 32 mannequins clothed in exclusively designed garbs, showcases distinguished designers with headquarters stationed in the Fashion District. Celebrating the home of American fashion, Sidewalk Catwalk runs down Broadway from 42nd Street to 35th Street until September 3rd. My favorite mannequins, pictured above, are from Naeem Khan, Prabal Gurung and Elie Tahari. If you haven’t already, check out Sidewalk Catwalk before it’s gone. For more information, log onto sidewalk-catwalk.com, follow them on Twitter and like them on Facebook.
Sweet—-well have to go check it out!!! Thanks for posting 🙂
