The Humanity of Social Media on Fashion’s Collective

Moving further into the strong presence of the digital age that is upon us, I recently began contributing to Digital Fashion and Luxury Resource, Fashion’s Collective. Founded by digital luxury trailblazer, Elizabeth Schofield, Fashion’s Collective has quickly been established as the go to resource for branding and marketing professionals entering the ever-evolving digital space. I am beyond delighted to begin sharing my views, ideas and strategies that can bridge that ever-gaping space between social media and fashion. My first article, titled “The Humanity of Social Media”, explores how technologycan allow us to engage as brands with audiences in new, meaningful ways. I’d love for you to have a look and share any views on how technology is allowing us to communicate in ways that we never have been able to before.

“People are always trying to find how does the Internet make money. I think its much more powerful. How does the Internet affect people? How does the Internet make you feel? How can the internet bring us close together to create something good and beautiful?” – Ryder Ripps, “How Does the Internet Make You Feel?”, Imagine Fashion

Shortly after this article was published, Imagine Fashion released a profound video interview with Ryder Ripps from Internet Archaeology that fell perfectly in line with the idea of the social aspects of technology allowing us to be more human. Above you will find a clip of the interview. I love Ryder’s ideas of internet preservation and how we can contribute our digital interactions towards social good.

Be sure to check out the progressive voices and viewpoints of Elizabeth Schofield, Scott Forshay, Tamar Koifman, Carlos Martinez, and Gina Conforti on Fashion’s Collective. It would be great to hear all of your thoughts.
