The resort collections are circulating around the twitter and blogosphere like a rapid wildfire this week. There’s so many light and pretty collections to see and digest. Before we blink next, it’s going to be time for the Spring 2013 collections. But I was glad to come across these images from the Cynthia Rowley Resort 2013 look book. The moody colors have a very authentic New York feeling that could be very fitting for the it girl on the Art Scene. The lengths of the dresses from the collection, hit the knee at a modest length that still managed to contain all of its sex appeal. Rowley plays off of inspiration from the Mylar balloon and emphasizing the wonder of dots in these piece. I have a strong attachment to polka dots, so this collection is barking up the right tree for me. Cynthia has done an fantastic job at incorporating her affection for surf and city lifestyle into her collection seamlessly, like in look number seven, pictured above.
Lindsay Lohan had a chance to wear a wetsuit created by Rowley in artist Richard Phillips’ new short film titled ‘First Point’ that’s set to premiere at Art Unlimitedin Switzerland for Art Basel this Thursday. I loved the last short that Phillips did with Lohan. She’s a great subject for him, the work between the two has a weightless sensory to it. Check out the trailer.
