While the whole of the fashion industry is showing fall collections that will be available to purchase in the spring time, Tamara Mellon is showing her pre-fall collection that will be available in no time. When she launched her new ready-to-wear collection after her departure from her $100 Million empire at Jimmy Choo – she vowed to give women exactly what they wanted: collections they want to wear now and can have now.
When you talk about Tamara Mellon, or at least when I talk about Tamara Mellon, I can’t help to think about the powerhouse of a woman she is. Not to mention, that she is one of the most successful entrepreneurs that the fashion industry has had the chance to encounter. She’s ballsy, directive and understands what women want. In her latest offering with this “Pre-Fall 2014” collection, she’s giving women clothing that they can actually be themselves in. Basic staples that wow, that’s really all we need .
I rarely review collections anymore because as a consumer I cannot conform to the highly publicized internet micro-trends that are constantly forced down runways, it just something I can’t connect to how I like to dress and present myself in the world. Yet, what Tamara is offering to the market is stand alone pieces that can not only withstand more than one season but can allow you (with all your style and grace) to wear the clothing and certainly not the other way around. With such a strong background in footwear and accessories, you can expect nothing less than stand out pieces that compliment the woman that is more than ready to get her spring and summer getaways started. I love the bohemian touches that become grounded with sophisticated shapes and details. If this is who the Tamara Mellon woman is, I’m all about her.
I want to say that you can be all about her too, but her pieces have become so sought after – they are nearly all sold out on Net-A-Porter – including this truly enchanting black leather fringe skirt that gave me heart palpitations at first glance. If you really want to get your hands on some pieces, check out her stockists here. I’m really looking forward to seeing how this exemplary entrepreneur will continue to shake up the fashion industry with her tactical and disruptive approach to fashion, business and to women.
