Diving into new music was a huge part of my 2013. And Soundcloud was my go-to tool for discovering new sounds, artists and labels. This month the sounds are all about the chill: getting your mind in the right place to make the right moves in the smoothest ways. There’s tons of tracks from R&B/soul crooners hailing from the UK like Sasha Keable, Francis Lung and Anushka. Some sexy remixes of Disclosure and Robert Glasper by my Soundcloud favorite, Kaytranada. A few full mixes for you music discovery junkies – one from electro/glitch producer Machinedrum, hosted by OAKNYC and one from THUMP‘s Built for the Chill series mixed by Elias Mazian for Vol. 1 – straight classics (you’ve got to check out the other Built for the Chill mixes, so smooth.)
I had to add in a few deep house/nudisco bangers in there to keep things interesting. A Little BICEP making you move with “Satisfy” and “Love of My Love” by Stage Rockers which also appears on the Deep Style Session mix I included by Chris Jylkke, because it’s even better the second time around.
